Small Business Saturday brought lively energy to Spa Road as we invited local entrepreneurs to use our community stalls. Teen innovator Luca from Imagein3D and Kay from Crafting with Kay joined us to showcase their talents, support local shopping, and celebrate community spirit this year.
Small Business Saturday is always a highlight for us, but this year we took things up a notch or at least a tent peg, by turning the front of our Hockley office into a mini marketplace. Yes, for one glorious day Spa Road became the unofficial HQ of local creativity, entrepreneurial energy, and the occasional gust of wind attempting to steal a gazebo.
To celebrate the big day, we invited local homegrown businesses and young entrepreneurs to take over our community stalls and show off their talents. And what a lineup we had!
First up was Luca, teen entrepreneur, 3D-printing wizard, and owner of Imagein3D (www.imagein3d.co.uk). Equipped with an impressive array of colourful creations, Luca drew in crowds of curious shoppers. We’re pretty sure he sold half his stock before we even finished our first mince pie. If there was an award for “Most Enthusiastic Innovator Before Lunchtime,” he’d have won it by a mile.
Joining him was Kay from Crafting with Kay, whose stall brought a burst of festive charm to Spa Road. From handmade gifts to beautiful crafts, her table looked like Santa’s workshop, if Santa were clever enough to outsource to someone far more organised. Shoppers loved her work, and we loved watching people leave with gifts and big smiles.
As big supporters of local businesses, we were absolutely delighted to welcome both Luca and Kay to celebrate Small Business Saturday with us. The atmosphere was brilliant, the community spirit was strong, and the only thing more impressive than the talent on display was the fact that none of the stalls blew away.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported our local entrepreneurs, or simply enjoyed the festive buzz. We can’t wait to do it all again next year with even more stalls, even more small businesses, and hopefully fewer near-misses involving tarpaulin.
