Another Santa Letter Success

Our 'Letters to Santa' project was launched at the Hockley Christmas Lights switch-on and proved to be hugely popular with families looking to bring some festive cheer to youngsters. As in previous years, children received a handwritten letter and a magic Christmas Bell to keep safe until the big guy arrived on Christmas Eve.

We received some lovely feedback from parents of youngsters who posted a letter in our Christmas postbox box which has been situated outside our Hockley branch during the month. Here are a few comments from the recipients of the 127 letters we helped Santa reply to:

'A heartfelt thank you to Amos once again proving to be so kind and generous for our community. Not only do they arrange for Father Christmas to reply to letters - they went above and beyond mentioning our daughter's birthday yesterday and magically arranging for the Kind Elf to deliver Santa's reply on her birthday. You do so much for our Village with charity, bunting etc, Have a great Christmas Amos Estates you deserve it team Amos Hockley" Melissa

'Our first year doing the Santa letter and was surprised when we received such a fantastic, handwritten response yesterday! Thanks, team and have a great Christmas. Rest those weary hands.' Katie

'I was so impressed with the letters, a whole A4 page each for both of my boys and so personal. Thank you so much, they (and I) loved them. Thanks again and Merry Christmas' Hannah

'Thank you so much for our letters from Santa. They were so personal and so much effort gone into them. Thanks again and Merry Christmas' Lindsay

'We received ours today, thank you so much! They were so magical and thoughtful. So kind of you all. Merry Christmas' Heidi

'Thank you so much for ours and for knocking to check one of the names, I really appreciate it. Can't wait to give them their letters' Michelle

'Thank you for our personalised letters, the fact that you even came to Ashingdon just shows how amazing you are and made my little ones' days when they returned from School so thank you' Lauren

As November draws near, red poppies begin to bloom across lapels, symbolising remembrance, gratitude, and unity. Each year, the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal brings communities together to honour those who have served and sacrificed in the Armed Forces. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and give back and thanks to the tireless RBL volunteers.

Being a landlord in 2025 comes with fresh challenges, from shifting regulations to changing tenant expectations. Whether you’re experienced or new to lettings, this checklist will help you stay compliant, competitive, and confident in the year ahead.

As the Christmas holidays approach, we’re delighted to share a little cheer from our local community. Amos Estates have teamed up with the amazing teachers at Westwood Primary School to surprise pupils with a sweet chocolate treat to celebrate the end of term and spread some festive joy.

Living next to the woods, we expected to feel closer to nature, but we didn’t expect to make friends with it. We thought we would spend our mornings listening to the birds and admiring the trees. Instead, we find ourselves checking that Freda the fox, our uninvited but much-loved garden guest has returned safely from her nightly wandering!
